Description

This book suggests a mediating view between the complementary and egalitarian views of the role of women in ministry. Based on the biblical world view of what constitutes reality the book argues that the three texts of 1 Cor. 11; 14; and 1 Tim. 2 are historically time-bound; but considerations for other matters, such as culture, restrain full implementation of equality. Although a particular injunction may appeal to creation does not make the injunction timeless and universal--as the biblical statements re. the Sabbath bear witness. Regarding the role of women in ministry, "the sooner and wider the giving up of freedom occurs, the sooner and wider the realization of freedom follows."
