This article attempts to put together a coherent “Petrine theology of prophecy” by tracing the theme of prophecy from Peter’s sermons in Acts to 1 Peter and 2 Peter. The first section examines Peter’s discussion of prophecy in Acts 2:14-40, Acts 3:12-26, 1 Peter, and 2 Peter. The second section of the article attempts to mold all the material into a unified “theology of prophecy,” noting the Petrine emphasis on fulfillment, etc. This section also discusses the relation of a theology of prophecy to other areas of theology.
