EFCA Theology Conference 2015: The Doctrine of the Scriptures

There are many ways the Scriptures are being questioned, undermined, and even denied, not only by those outside Evangelicalism but from those within. In response to these views and in defense of the Scriptures, the 2015 EFCA Theology Conference theme is “The Doctrine of the Scriptures.” Conference dates are January 28-30, 2015 and the location is Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL.

During our days together we will address why it is important to equip people in our churches to uphold these truths regarding the Bible in today’s culture. Three intensely focused days will include seven teaching sessions, two panel discussions, and time for corporate worship.

Following is a list of the excellent instructors who will be with us and the topic of their lectures:

D. A. Carson, “The Doctrine of Scripture: Introduction to the Present-Day Discussion” (Research Professor of New Testament, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School)

John Woodbridge, “The History of the Doctrine of Scripture” (Research Professor of Church History and the History of Christian Thought, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School)

Kevin Vanhoozer, “Inerrancy and Hermeneutics” (Research Professor of Systematic Theology, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School)

V. Philips Long, “Competing Histories, Competing Theologies, and the Challenge of Old Testament Interpretation” (Professor of Old Testament, Regent College)

Douglas Moo, “The New Testament Use of the Old Testament” (Kenneth T. Wessner Professor of New Testament, Wheaton College)

Graham Cole, “The Theology of Canonicity: Why a Book, Why this Book, Why this Sequence of Books within the Book” (Anglican Professor of Divinity, Beeson Divinity School)

Daniel Doriani, “Scripture in the Life of the Pastor” (Vice President of Strategic Academic Initiatives, Professor of Theology, Covenant Theological Seminary)

Attendance is not limited to those in the EFCA or at TIU/TEDS. Please consider attending and plan to bring others with you. With these Evangelical scholars addressing their areas of expertise as it pertains to the doctrine of the Scriptures, this Conference will be excellent!
