Covenant Theological Seminary invites applications and nominations for a full-time faculty appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The candidate will be qualified in either Old Testament, New Testament, or Systematic Theology. The position will start in the 2018 academic year (July 1 is the normal start date, though an August start date is also possible). Primary instructional responsibilities will include teaching courses both on-campus and online, and will involve team-teaching in cross-disciplinary classes. Ethnic minority candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

The qualified candidate will:

  • Have a doctoral degree in either Old Testament, New Testament, or one of the theological disciplines (if the latter, the candidate should have a special interest in the redemptive historical approach to theology and have skill in exegesis).
  • Show evidence of teaching experience or promise of excellence in the classroom.
  • Demonstrate ability in or potential for scholarship.
  • Have solid experience in a practical ministry context with demonstrated ability to shepherd God’s people.

Candidates must also be in agreement with the doctrinal distinctives of the Presbyterian Church in America (see, noting especially the “Confessional” tab, and see also PCA Net) and belong to, or be willing to belong to, a church in the Reformed tradition.
