Theme Sessions

ETS members will see the option to submit a proposal for a session related to this year's theme.

Choose this option if your proposed paper would be well suited to be grouped with other papers on this year's theme.

Open Section Sessions and Discipline Specific Sessions by Category

ETS Members will see the option to submit a proposal for open section sessions at this year's meeting. The ETS Annual Meeting has a number of Program Units referred to as Sections. Sections are responsible for one session of invited papers and one session of papers submitted in response to the general call for papers.

In addition to the open sessions managed by the Section steering committees, the program chair assembles additional discipline specific sessions from the submitted proposals. Typically these sessions bring together papers around broad subject lines: Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, etc.

You may submit each proposal to either an open section session or a discipline specific session, but not both. Select the session most appropriate to your paper's content. If you submit to a open section session, but the program unit committee does not select your proposal it will be moved to the discipline specific queue for possible inclusion in one of the discipline specific sessions. You will be notified by email if your proposal has been moved to the discipline specific queue.
