Christian History and Thought since 1700

Overview

This unit is aimed at gathering together interests in post-Reformation and modern Christian History and Thought not presently accommodated in existing units. Christian History and Thought since 1700 will aim to accommodate such themes as the following:

  • Post-Reformation studies (leading individuals, doctrinal themes)
  • European Pietist movements (distinct from Puritanism, which has its own gathering)
  • Evangelical leaders, evangelical movements and awakenings from 1700 onward
  • The history of missions since the Puritan age, and developments in theology since the Reformation age
