The book is based on chapters from the author’s (Alan Chan) dissertation. Most of the material was written as sermon scripts. When putting the materials into book form, the author makes use of his and other academic study and turns them into practical and devotional material.
Written in Chinese, the focus is on the 15 songs in the Songs of Ascents, having looked at the overall structure of the Psalter, and the reading paradigm of Psalms 1-2 in order to draw out the messianic prophecy in these Songs. The book pays attention on how these messianic prophecies relate to believers’ daily life. The book is 212 pages and contains an introduction and 10 chapters with a conclusion. Script is in Chinese.
