Responsible for assisting the Dean of Students by providing coordination, vision, and support for male seminary students and all international students (male and female).


  • Excellent pastoral care, spiritual formation, and spiritual direction skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to function well at times in a stressful environment, including conflict resolution.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of DTS methods, procedures, and practices (desired).
  • Master’s degree (required), working towards a doctorate (preferred).
  • At least two years of related experience required.
  • A diploma, current certification, or credentials in pastoral care, chaplaincy, or counseling preferred.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.


  • Provide pastoral care, mentoring, and lay counseling to students.
  • Serve as a Designated Student Official (DSO) for the Department of Homeland Security and eventually become the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO).
  • Manage International students Office and all issues about it.
  • Advise international students and their families on immigration and cultural adjustment issues, including students in the school’s Chinese and Spanish language programs.
  • Monitor compliance with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) requirements for enrolled international students across all campuses and degree programs.
  • Advise staff and faculty regarding international and transcultural students.
  • Facilitate activities for international students.
  • Assist with New Student Orientation.
  • Assist with student conduct and discipline.
  • Make referrals to the DTS counseling department as needed.
  • Provide other services as requested by the Dean of Students.
