North Greenville University is a teaching university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Members of the College of Christian Studies faculty are Southern Baptists who have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, are role models in their piety and ethics, and mentor students academically and spiritually. They are Baptist scholars who are expected to teach in accordance with, and not contrary to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, the Manhattan Declaration, and the university’s Statement on Human Flourishing. Faculty are required to maintain membership in a local church that is in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, normally located in South Carolina. All employees of NGU are required to abstain from illegal drugs and beverage alcohol.

Position Summary
The College of Christian Studies is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position starting in August of 2021 with a specialization in any area of theology or biblical studies. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in the classroom, who are skilled in research, and can teach a broad variety of graduate-level theology or biblical studies courses particularly. Review of applications will begin on April 1, 2021 and continue until the position is filled.

This position will serve as a vital faculty member of the College of Christian Studies working primarily in the School of Ministry [SOM]. This position will be on an annual contract of a full-time teaching load both on-campus and on-line. The University does not offer tenured-track positions. This position will require course development in both on-campus and on-line modalities. This position will work closely under the direction of the Associate Dean of the SOM on the Graduate School campus in Greer, South Carolina. This position may also require teaching responsibilities on the Tigerville campus as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and receive his direction on prioritized needs of course development.
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators as set forth by the Associate Dean.
  • Develop and teach online courses.
  • Develop and teach on-campus courses.
  • Assist in developing new courses of study and concentrations.
  • Advise students.


  • Terminal degree in theology or Old Testament or New Testament Studies.
  • Experience in teaching on-campus with subject matter expertise.
  • Experience in teaching online with subject matter expertise.
  • Significant practical ministry experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Facility with computer software programs and the use of computer peripherals.
  • Commitment to a personal growth mindset.
  • Supports NGU’s mission, core values, and commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with biblical models.
  • Willing to join a local church in friendly cooperation with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
