Duties and Responsibilities*

  • On-going assessment, development, and implementation of sustainable discipleship program
  • Provide oversight and direction for the Doctor of Ministry program
  • Teach 12 hours per year in ministry and discipleship courses (this is a 6 hour reduction based on the administrative duties for this position)
  • Mentor students, serve on committees, and participate actively in the life of the school, fulfilling the responsibilities detailed in the Faculty Handbook
  • Actively research, publish, and participate in scholarly societies in areas related to discipleship and ministry
  • Supervise up to 2 MA BTS individualized studies per semester
  • Supervise up to 4 DMin projects per year

The qualified candidate will:

  • have a completed doctorate in discipleship, pastoral ministry, or a closely related field (required)
  • exhibit personal godliness as evidenced by the NT qualifications for an elder
  • be in agreement with the Phoenix Seminary faculty teaching position
  • possess teaching experience
  • show evidence of the ability to do quality scholarship and to contribute to the broader academic community
  • evidence a strong commitment to the local church, including being a member in good standing of an evangelical, Protestant church
  • have pastoral experience (required)
  • have native or full professional Spanish fluency (preferred)
