Description
The successful candidate for this faculty position in the Department of Missiology and Intercultural Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) will assume the full responsibility of an academic department chair. The candidate will also fulfill the responsibilities of a teaching faculty member at the DTS Dallas campus and possibly at other external campuses as needed. This will also include oversight of the Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies degree program and the Master of Arts in Biblical Exegesis and Linguistics programs at DTS (in cooperation with Dallas International University) across all campuses. The successful candidate must have proven experience in global and local intercultural ministry (10 years or more preferred) as well as experience demonstrating an ability to teach in higher theological education and to be able to work as a member of a team. The candidate must have a completed terminal doctoral degree in missiology or a related field.

The purpose of the Department of Missiology and Intercultural Ministries is to equip students to faithfully fulfill God’s global aim through relevant, flexible, and practical academic programs and courses. The department fosters a community of missiological scholarship and reflective learning where students grow in biblical, theological, and real-life skills to be effective godly servants no matter their intended ministry context. The department equips students in the following:
- International missions in the areas of communication, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, global theology, global leadership, intercultural education, Bible translation, particular contexts, and current topics.
- Home-context missions intended to engage interculturally through sensitive and compelling gospel ministries in evangelism, discipleship, church planting, intercultural communication, multicultural relations, compassion, and current issues.
