Dean of DTS Houston and Teaching Faculty

The Dean of DTS Houston is charged with the administrative leadership of the DTS Houston campus including the DTS Houston Executive Team. This leadership is to be carried out in conjunction with the Office of Academic Affairs on the Dallas campus. Significant directional issues will be made in consultation with the Vice President for Education and the Academic Dean. This position will oversee administrative facets of the DTS Houston campus relating to academic and organizational responsibilities and personnel, with a focus on developing and executing DTS Houston’s strategic plan in light of recent and prospective growth. Primary to this position will be developing DTS Houston’s degree offerings and initiatives, including multi-site offerings in Houston, and attending to accreditation requirements by ATS and SACSCOC. The Dean of the DTS Houston campus also serves as a teaching faculty member in one of the academic departments of the seminary (based on academic credentials). Teaching responsibilities will be limited to two courses (six credit hours) per semester with a maximum teaching load of four courses (twelve credit hours) during a contract year, with one course per semester and two courses per year included in the contract responsibilities. As part of faculty responsibility, this position will offer academic advising to DTS Houston students. Normal, professorial expectations will apply to such responsibilities. Grading assistance will be granted as available through departmental funding and as deemed necessary by the appropriate department chair and the academic dean’s office.
