Job Description
The successful candidate for this faculty position in the Department of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary will assume the full responsibility of a tenure-track teaching professor at the DTS Dallas (or possibly Houston) campus, with one course a semester usually taught at an external campus. In accordance with the mission of the Seminary and the Bible Exposition Department, this individual will seek to prepare godly servant leaders for a lifetime of study, exposition, and application of the Scriptures. Faculty members support the educational process by not only teaching but also by advising students, serving on committees, addressing projects as assigned, and by assisting at strategic events.

It is desired that the candidate should have an established Bible-teaching ministry of speaking at churches, conference, camps, etc.

The candidate must have a completed academic terminal degree (either a PhD or ThD, not a DMin) in biblical studies (preferably with an emphasis on exposition or biblical theology).

Teaching Specialties Areas
The Bible Exposition (BE) Department exists historically at Dallas Theological Seminary out of a commitment of its founders to ground all of the Seminary’s students in all 66 books of the Word of God. This perspective is distinct among most academic departments of Biblical Studies at seminaries. The goals of the BE Department at DTS include aiding the student:

• to discover the unifying message of each book and how the various parts of a book support this message
• to demonstrate how the message of each book contributes to the overall biblical theology of the Scriptures,
• to develop a consistent, literal, grammatical, historical, literary, and theological approach to Scripture, and
• to guide students into an understanding of valid applications of Scripture.

This is done with a primary focus on the biblical text while still seeking to be versed in the current issues of academic research.
