Assistant Professor of Missions and Ministries

The School of Missions and Ministries at Louisiana Christian University welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor in Missions and Ministries and the Coordinator of Christ, Church, and Culture events. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

The qualified candidate must demonstrate an active Christian faith and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 along with the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to engage students actively and to contribute to an academic learning community both in a classroom and online. Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competencies in lecture courses that will include the candidate’s specialty area as well as other specific needs in the department. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising of students, have a willingness to serve on college committees, and assist in curriculum development and recruitment opportunities. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged with some funding available through an endowment. The successful candidate will be required to teach at least 15 hours each semester, including Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise for various majors and minors. The successful candidate will also serve as the Coordinator of Christ, Church, and Culture (C3) events and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and hosting at least 2 events each semester.

Louisiana Christian University is a private, Baptist, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences with selected professional programs, located in Pineville, Louisiana. The College was founded in 1906 and is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Louisiana Baptist Convention. It has an enrollment of about 1,300 students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Qualifications: Preferred: PhD in Old Testament or Biblical Studies. Must be able to teach Biblical Hebrew. ABD will be considered. 2-3 years of college-level teaching experience is preferred.
