Tenure Track – Biblical Studies

Redeemer University invites applications for a tenure-track position in biblical studies beginning in July 2023. We seek candidates who are aligned with and passionate about Redeemer’s mission of approaching teaching and scholarship from a Reformed Christian perspective.

The successful candidate will teach 6-7 course sections per year, including a mix of the following:
 Courses in biblical studies (Old Testament and/or New Testament)
 Other courses in the Religion & Theology programs (may include courses in theology and ministry as
needed)
 Our Core program course REL-110: The Drama of Scripture.
The position responsibilities also include an active, ongoing program of research and publication, as well as
service to the university community through participation in committees, governance, and the like.

Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
 A vibrant Christian faith consistent with the Reformed character of the university;
 A PhD (in hand or near completion) in biblical studies, with the expertise and desire to teach both
introductory and more specialized courses in Old Testament and/or New Testament
 The training and interests that will support teaching more broadly in our Religion & Theology programs
and our Core program
 A demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching, or evidence of the potential for it
 A research program and accomplishments appropriate to the candidate’s career stage.
Academic leadership experience or potential is also an asset for this position.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, C.V., evidence of teaching quality, a 1-2-page statement
describing their own Christian faith commitment and how it relates to Redeemer’s mission and to their
teaching and perspective on the discipline, and the names of three individuals who have agreed to provide
letters of reference should the applicant advance to a later stage of the process. The application deadline is
December 12, 2022 or until the position is filled.
