The Gulf Training Center (GTC) is seeking a full-time, residential faculty member in theological studies. This strategic role will shape prospective church planters and pastors for the least-reached part of the world by teaching courses in systematic and/or historical theology, mentoring students, producing scholarship that serves the church, and supporting the mission and vision of the Gulf Training Center.

Located in Dubai, UAE, the Gulf Training Center is a new institution training pastors and church planters for the 10/40 Window. We are affiliated with Redeemer Church of Dubai. We began offering classes in 2015, and our innovative church-dependent pastoral education curriculum launched with the 2016-17 first-year cohort. We are working in partnership with notable international seminaries and mission organizations, and are pursuing regional accreditation. Currently all classes are taught in English. Past visiting professors have included Joel Beeke, Todd Bolen, D.A. Carson, Mark Dever, Ligon Duncan, Mike Fabarez, Gary Millar, Michael Reeves, Thomas Schreiner, Bruce Ware, and Stephen Wellum.

Requirements include:
A growing believer in Jesus Christ, biblically qualified for the office of elder (1 Tim 3; Titus 1)
Th.M. and/or Ph.D. in Systematic or Historical Theology
Demonstrated passion for the local church and the church’s mission of making disciples of all nations
Ability to teach with clarity and excellence
Agreement with The Gospel Coalition Confessional Statement (
Membership in, and strong recommendation of, faithful local church
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ministry in a very diverse multi-cultural setting

Preference will be given to those with one or more of the following additional qualifications:
Potential to move to Dubai by summer of 2019 in time for the start of the 2019-20 academic year
Prior experience in pastoral ministry, teaching on the college/seminary level, and/or living and ministering cross-culturally
Prior study of and/or experience with ministry in Islamic contexts
Ability and willingness to teach in other disciplines
Ability in one of our students’ primary languages: Arabic, Hindi, Tagalog, Malayalam, Farsi, or Urdu
