The School of Theology and Missions (STM) at Union University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning Fall 2019 in biblical or theological studies. The position is at our Germantown campus. Rank assignment commensurate with education/experience. This position includes a competitive salary and benefit package.

Union University is a private, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The campus is located in Jackson, Tenn. (80 miles northeast of Memphis) with additional campuses in Germantown and Hendersonville, Tenn. Union University currently enrolls more than 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students from more than 44 states and 25 countries. Candidates should be qualified to teach graduate courses in biblical or theological studies. Class assignments may include Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, History of Christianity, and others. Other assignments will include student recruitment for the Master in Christian Studies as well as program development in consultation with STM administration. General faculty responsibilities will include student advising, recruiting, and department and committee assignments. Other duties as assigned by the dean of the STM.

Graduation from an accredited college, university, or seminary with a PhD in biblical or theological studies. ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants able to teach graduate coursework in multiple areas. Effective teaching experience, evidence of scholarly potential, and a passion for teaching is essential.
