A Section is the most broadly defined program unit, representing broad areas of general interest. Sections are responsible for two sessions at the Annual Meeting. The section's invited session is used for invited papers or a panel discussion, while the open session is constructed from presentations submitted by members at large in response to the general call for papers. Sections often use their invited and open sessions to address different topics within their area of study. Sections normally have a six-year term and are renewable. Responsibility for Sections resides with each Section’s steering committee, answerable to the Program Units Committee and the Executive Committee. Sections are the only program units to which members may submit a proposal. Active Sections |
