Islam & Evangelical Christianity

The theme of this consultation will focus on the biblical and theological justification and practice of engagement between Evangelical Christianity and Islam here in the United States and in Muslim majority countries, as well as the complexity of Islam in its various forms as a backdrop for this discussion

As Muslims in increasing numbers are coming into the country and into the neighborhoods of ETS members, a regular program unit to better equip members to understand and evaluate Islam is needed. A coherent and elucidative theological assessment of the Muslim perspective on such possible issues as the nature of God, the Quran, significant Muslim beliefs and practices, religious liberty and dialogue pathways will be undertaken. We need to better understand Islam, our Muslim neighbors, and how to effectively engage them from the standpoint of our theological beliefs.

The theme for this year's Consultation is: Religious Liberty.
